Pedicure mishap...

Reading this post over at Oh! How Lovely reminded me that I forgot to tell you all what I did yesterday!

I was giving myself a pedicure, and not just changing the polish. A full spa pedicure with soaking my feet in the tub, foot scraper, special foot lotion and cuticle clipper, you know, the works! Well I was using the foot scraper and cut two large gashes out of the bottom of my foot!! Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!

Now I'm bleeding everywhere, hopping around on one foot and Libby's looking at me like I've gone crazy.

It. hurt. like. hell.

I had a hard time walking all day yesterday and couldn't keep a band aid on it. Have you ever tried to keep a band aid on the bottom of your foot while wearing sandals? Practically impossible.

This must be why they tell you not to use those foot scrapers! I never listen, I just wanted those rough spots gone! I think I learned my lesson though... I'm afraid of those things now!

Do you guys use them? Have you had a DIY mishap like this? Have you had a mishap at the salon?

Let's just say I pretty much have the worst feet ever. I used to use them, but now have pretty much given up hope.

My pedicure lady (pedicurist??) uses them but she is skillful, I guess!!

I am thinking about buying one of those Ped Eggs at Target.

OUCH!! That sounds painful!! I've never had that happen to me but I have had the lady cut my toe when she was trimming my nails and I was bleeding everywhere in the salon. I was not impressed and barely tipped her!

yikes. how painful. i once tried waxing my own eyebrows. that was a disaster! i ended up ripping some skin off. never again. someone else can do it for me.

Omg crazy you mention this... I gave myself a pedicure just like you did. I wear high-heeled sandals of various heel heights all day every day and power walk in them two miles a day. (Yes, I am insane... but I do it at work!) I should have learned my lesson from a track meet after a pedicure in high school, but no...

HORRIBLE blisters on my nice soft skin after the pedicure. Omg. And bleeding in multiple places.

Never. ever. again.

OUCH!!!
I'm sorry that happened!!
I don't have any bad feet stories, but my best friend (being the lucky bitch she is) was having problems with her toenails growing weird (not inwards but just weird) and her doctor PRESCRIBED pedicures to her!! So now she gets them professionally done once every two weeks and her insurance pays for it!
I've never had a professional pedicure but am looking into it (sort of, I get really giggly when someone messes with my feet and I'm scared to death I would kick the poor pedicurist by accident.)

Ouch! Hope that gets better soon -- a little salt water (Florida Ocean water) would do it wonders :)

Hmm and i was gonna go and get one!

Those dang things. You should sue someone!! And then use the money to get yourself pedicures that will magically, and painlessly get rid of those rough spots.

Great idea right?!!
