YA books and book blogging.

Recently I have discovered a new "genre" of blogs that I'm quickly becoming obsessed with. Book blogs! I don't know how it's taken me this long to stumble across them, but I'm really glad I have! So far some of my favorites are Bookalicious, Chic lit Reviews and News, The Sweet Bookshelf, and Confessions of a Bookaholic.

One of my favorite bloggers, Classy in Philadelphia started her own book blog called Cover to Cover. We have very similar taste in books so it's fun to read her reviews and to discover new books from her. If she likes it, I probably will too!

One trend I'm noticing is the popularity in YA books. More specifically the trend in YA books with adults in their twenties. I haven't really considered them because I guess I thought they would be more of a "teen" book. Not really sure why I thought that, but I did.

I have been adding more and more YA titles to my "plan to read" section on my Shelfari account so I am hoping I get around to reading them sometime soon. Before the year is over, perhaps? By the way, is it seriously September already? What happened to summer?

Just yesterday I reserved several Sarah Dessen books at the library and I'm number 1 on the wait list so I think I will get this phase in book reading starting pretty soon!

Do any of you read YA books? If so what are your favorites?

I recently discovered Zoey Dean. I read "How To Teach Filthy Rich Girls" and now I am on the waiting list at the library for her newest book. I can't remember the exact title.......but something like Hollywood Is Just Like High School? I also love Sarah Mlynowski's books for teens and/or young adults about witchcraft. They are very cute! Plus, she has several books in the chick lit genre.

I haven't read them. I'll have to make a note to add some of them to my must read list. But right now I have a stack about 15 books deep waiting on me to read.

Very cool! I added those book blogs to my google reader.

I haven't read that vampire series, but read 3 of the 4 Twilight books. I kind of got pissed at Bella in the 3rd book. Just didn't like when she was kind of leading both guys on. I have the 4th book and just haven't been motivated to read it but my sister read it this summer & said it's so good, so I need to tackle that this fall.

Awww, thanks for the mention, glad to hear you like my blog!! :)

Generally I don't read all that many YA novels, but I've been more and more interested in them after reading about them on various YA book blogs.

I've just finished a YA novel that was really one of my favourites - it's called Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver. It comes out in March 2010 and it's really good, I'll post a quick review soon!

"By the way, is it seriously September already? What happened to summer?" - OMG, don't even remind me, I'm freaking ooooout over how fast time flies, I just can't comprehend it and it's scary, September already!!!

I like the idea of reading YA books. But I read them so quickly I find it hard to believe they're worth the money. But I mainly buy my books, and if I remember right you've been using the library right? That's probably the right way to go about reading those type of books, I think!

I wanted to tell you that I was browing the Sarah Dessen books at Target this weekend and they look sooo good. I almost bought one or two...and then slapped my wrist (hee!) and reminded myself I should check them out at the Library!!
