Going public...

So, I'm thinking of "going public" with my blog. Most of my friends do not know how to get to it. They know I maintain one but I told them if they found it to just not tell me.

Honestly what just got me thinking about it was joining Twitter. There is a spot for your blog URL and I almost didn't think twice about putting it in there. I know there is a spot for it on Facebook too, but I didn't even consider putting it on there...

What do you all think? Should I just bite the bullet and do it? What am I afraid of? Is there anything on here I should be ashamed of? I do not think so, I try really hard not to talk about people behind their backs and if I do I try to make sure its something I would say to their face.

I think I'm going to comb through my blog, make sure there isn't anything I wouldn't want them to know and "go public"!!

To me this just seems like a big deal because my blog is more like a journal to me... so I'm not going to make a snap decision and going to think about it for a couple days!

****UPDATE****
I did it! I linked my blog to FB, but I deleted it from the newsfeed. If people find it, it's because they're looking at my contact info which is fine by me. I do not write this blog to get famous, or become a writer by any means. It is mainly just an outlet for my thoughts, kind of like a journal but not that private. My stomach is doing little somersaults right now, because I just put myself out there but it also feels really good!

I never really thought of going private with my blog, I just automatically linked it to twitter and facebook. Now my family and friends all read it. I don't really find I have to censor who I am too too much. The one topic I haven't talked about yet is Sex because both my parents and even my grandparents read my blog sometimes. But since I want to be a writer I might just break out of my shell and talk about the subject. They all know I'm doing it anyways hahaha

I just went through my entire blog -- wow, what a big job! There really wasn't very many things I felt I had to delete. I didn't want to delete much either because everything on here is 100% me! Why should I hide that?

Since I just went through the trouble of editing the entire thing, I should link it to FB, it's already linked to Twitter.

I understand! But this will give you a slightly wider audience. But it will make you stop & think a little bit before you write. But you are fine! I have never known you to say mean things to anyone on here--that you wouldn't say to their face!

I told my best friend and she was like why didn't you tell me earlier? My mom actually stumbled upon it and sent me an e-mail asking if she could read it. I of coarse said yes, but it was nice that she asked for permission and all.

I started my blog for me and didn't care whether or not anyone read it. A couple of months ago, I noticed that one of my "real" life friends commented on it. I sort of gasped because I wondered how she found it. Well, she has a blog of her own for family pics & stories but I never thought she would look at my profile and find my blog. I was so surprised.

After I thought about it, I realized that I would be lucky to have a friend like that read my blog. She ha some great advice. Now, I am not about to advertise it on FB as I am still somewhat reserved about that but if anyone should find it, then I am happy to share my life with them.

BTW, Twitter is addicting. :D

I just did it this past month or so and I haven't really had a problem with it. Good luck!!!

This is such a weird topic for me. I tried to be anonymous, but then I started posting pictures and stuff. I don't know...a few friends know about it, but I don't promote it on my Twitter because I'm using my Twitter for professional things mostly. It's been fun having a few friends read it, but I definitely wouldn't want my whole sorority reading it or anything.
