Actually glad the weekend is over...

I know, I know. I'm glad the weekend is over??! Sounds crazy right? But, if you were me you would totally understand.

This has been a tough week and you can see it in my face. My eyes are bloodshot and my chin has broken out. Don't ya just hate what stress does to your body?

This morning we had our annual physical inventory at 5am and all week we had to prep for it. For those of you wondering what that entails... basically we have to count each and every item in the store, which totals to almost 30,000 pieces. I shouldn't take all the credit though, I had a great team from RGIS (retail grocer inventory solutions) that came in and did all the scanning. I got really lucky this time around, they can make or break your inventory experience.

Also, Saturday was the last day of January for us and I needed to make $14,000 to make my sales plan for the month and bonus. I was a little bummed as I headed out because we were only on track to do about $10,000. Well, right around 10pm last night I got a text from one of my assistants saying we made it! I was so pumped and so proud! I just love it when hard work pays off!

Now, the real doozy that's been getting me down. A year ago this week the company I worked for before now closed. I still can't believe it's been a year and I still miss it just as much. It really is like I've lost an incredible friend.

You can read all about my experience with them here.

I sincerely hope everyone had a much better weekend then me! ;)

I've never worked in retail, so I've never done an inventory. But my boyfriend does, and of course isn't a fan. I'm not really a fan either, because it means he's been the ENTIRE weekend till late. I'm sure you're glad its over with the the year (at least I'm assuming you only do it once a year. Or maybe 6 months?) And congrats on meeting your goal for January!

Sorry that your weekend sucked but it's good you made your targets! My sister is a manager in a clothes shop where they are very target oriented so I know how stressful it can be!

My weekend was very quiet in comparison -I'm sad it's over, especially as I made the mistake of checking my work email from home and have seen some things that are already bothering me that I'll have to deal with in approximately nine hours or so...

I'm sorry you have had such a rough week and weekend but I totally know how you feel. This past week was rough for me and my family with a lot of illness. It's good that you made your goal at work though! I hope that this week and weekend prove to be better for you.

Oooh sorry your weekend sucked. That kind of inventory does NOT sound fun. At all. Hope this week picks up for you!

When I was in college, I worked retail and had to do this once. It was awful! I'm glad you made it through it!

The inventory process does NOT sound fun. :( Yuck. I am glad this weekend is over for you, too!

I am also breaking out like crazy due to stress. Not fun. My complexion is worse now than it was when I was in my teens. So not fair.

That inventory sounds like a nightmare! When I worked at a movie theatre, we had to inventory the cups, popcorn bags, and candy and stuff -- weekly. But that sounds like a breeze in comparison to what you had to do!

I hope next week is more relaxing and that your face clears up. :)

I had to do inventory when I worked at a flower shop. I just remember counting a lot of balloons & every single individual plant.
