Yep, that's me. The girl reading in the corner...

Remember when I talked about my obsession with the library? Well, this is why I need to get it under control...

Currently checked out:

-->Sookie Stackhouse books 5-8: due back 8/18 (with the 9th one on hold and I'm next in line)
-->Julie and Julia by Julie Powell: due back 8/27
-->The Wedding Girl by Madeleine Wickham: due back 8/25
-->A Wild Affair by Gemma Townley: due back 8/30 (I loved her book, The Importance of Being Married. Great chick lit!)
-->Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah: due back 8/30
--> Easy on the Eyes by Jane Porter: due back 8/27
-->Misery loves Cabernet by Kim Gruenenfelder: due back 8/27

That's 10 books by the end of the month! Yikes!

Most of them I can renew, but some of them like the Sookie Stackhouse books and the Madeleine Wickham book cannot be renewed because other people have placed holds on them.

I'm obsessed!

On the flipside, I'm getting really good at resisting buying books. I'm only purchasing books if I have a coupon. Which if you're a Borders fan, they almost always have a 40% coupon out and it's just too good to pass up! This past weekend I used my 40% coupon on Outlander by Diana Gabaldon which was recommended by Amber awhile back! I got a paperback copy for only $4.79 plus tax! What a steal! Maybe I will get around to reading it in, uh... December?! :)

Last night I finished up Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella and I ADORED it! So much better than I thought it would be! If you haven't read it, I think it might be worth it to buy. I'm going to wait for it come out in paperback next year to buy it, because by then I will probably want to read it again!

Good night all! I'm off to get started on book five of the Sookie Stackhouse series, Dead as a Doornail!

Oooh, I just picked up Certain Girls and LIttle Earthquakes by Jennifer Weiner from my library as well as A Lion Called Christian! I'm on the waitlist for Julie and Julia!!

I LOVED Twenties Girl. There was a huge waitlist at my library so I ended up buying it. SO SO good!

Also, I'm SOOOO freaking excited you bought Outlander!! Can't wait to hear what you think of it!!

Let me know how you like the 5th book. I stopped reading after #4 cause I got a bit burned out. I just started reading LA Candy and it's entertaining. I will have to check out Twenties Girl. I already have like 6 other book samples on my Kindle waiting to be read.

i loved "firefly lane"...a little long but well worth it. i have a huge problem with buying books, getting about halfway through & never finishing them! i need to take your advice and get into the library setting... i wish i could stay awake later at night to really get into reading. it seems i sit down to read and after only a few pages i fall asleep :(

I just went to the library yesterday for the first time in 6 years! I picked up 4 books that I had placed on hold for me:

1. What I talk about when I talk about running
2. And sometimes by
3. Shadow of the silk road
4. Up for renewal: what magazines taught me about love, sex and starting over

They are all do 9/1. I was reading about a book/week all year... until this summer!

I've put myself on a book buying hiatus as well, but had to break it last night and buy the next book for a book club I just joined. They wait was too long at the library!

Happy reading!!

You're a busy girl! I'm reading Julie & Julie right now -- I wanted to read it before I went to see it.

I seriously think you and I could be best friends...no lie. I am almost done Twenties Girl...finishing it tonight and I LOVE IT.

I need to try out her Madeline Wickham books. Are they as good as the Sophie Kinsella?

oh my! i was once like you. the library was always hounding me to return something that i hadnt read yet. but then, for valentine's day, my husband bought me a kindle. now nobody hounds me and i'm no longer bound by the hours of the library, i can order books anytime. which brings me to my new problem--i'm a brokeaholic!

I'm actually quite cautious of due dates! Especially with the newer titles because I'm sure there are more people out there just like me! :)

Oh! Great post, I want to read these books now...I am definitely going to get on the waiting list, and it sounds like there are more Sophie Kinsellas that I didn't know about. Also, I do think her Sophie books are way better than the books under her real name.

I read The Importance of Being Married about a year or so ago and really liked it. I didn't realize she had any other books. I might have to check that one out now
