Change o' plans...

This is my weekend off and guess where I am? At home on the couch. Yes, you read right.

I.am.so.bummed.

I had a great weekend planned that I had been looking forward to for a month now. Then earlier this week I started getting a horrible toothache. I haven't been able to sleep because the pain is keeping me up at night and the ache is of course giving me a horrible headache. This morning I went into the dentist and of course he said everything looks fine and my X-rays were okay so he's sending me to an endodontist. This isn't until Tuesday. Until then he has prescribed me Vicodin for the pain, and honestly, it's not helping.

A toothache is horrible. I have not felt anything like this before. It's a dull, aching pain that cannot be ignored. Usually I'm okay with grinning and bearing it since I kind of have to with my job. This kind of pain cannot be disregarded.

Before this happened here is how my weekend was supposed to go:

Friday morning: Sleep in.
Friday afternoon: Do a little shopping, take Zeke to the park and maybe get some cleaning done.
Friday night: BRITNEY SPEARS concert!

Saturday morning: Tailgating all day for the Iowa/Iowa State game!!!
Saturday afternoon: More tailgating...
Saturday night: No more tailgating, but celebrating a win!

Sunday morning: Sleep in.
Sunday afternoon: Go to Nebraska Furniture Mart in Omaha with my mom.
Sunday night: True Blood season finale and laundry.

Now, clearly I can still do (and will do) many of the things on this list. I did make it the Britney Spears concert (although I had 3000 millegrams of Vicodin in my system) and had a good time. I'm extremely bummed that I will not make it to one of the biggest football games of the year. I was really looking forward to this, but there will be other games and there will be another home game against Iowa in two years. I'm glad I was able to go to the concert, but for the next two days I'm going to take it easy.

I'm nervous about this "endodontist" appointment on Tuesday. I'm pretty much expecting a root canal, but what is weird is the tooth giving me trouble has a crown on it and the crown is fine. No cracks, nothing. My dentist said everything looks fine.

Keep your fingers crossed for me that whatever it is can be taken care of with a simple, painless procedure!

Toothaches are THE WORST. I had one a couple of years back and it turned out that I had a sinus infection that was putting pressure on my teeth. Random, huh? It is awful, though.

Sucks that you had to then re-arrange your weekend. Boo. :(

Hope your tooth problems are over soon!

Tooth pains are the worst! They are HORRIBLE!!! However, I'm glad you made it to the concert because Britney and the circus tour is amazing!

That sounds awful! I hope the endodontist has a magic touch, and somehow you avoid having an actual root canal!

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that. Toothaches, or any kind of terrible pain in your head mouth, are the WORST ever!! I hope you feel better soon, dear :-(
