Ok, I know ya'll are probably sooo sick of this subject but I need more help.
The boy's birthday is Wednesday. Do I get him something?
Keep in mind we have had several talks about us being in a "relationship" and have acknowledged that, yes we are, but he wants to continue to go slow. I haven't talked to him since Saturday night, which isn't too unusual, but kind of is? Can't really explain why. We seem to go through spurts where we'll talk a lot, then a couple of days we don't talk at all.
What do I do? What would you do?

If he were just a friend, would you give him a gift? That should pretty much give you your answer.
But why buy stuff? Why not take him out to dinner or cook for him?
Good luck!
I say go for it. Put all of the 'are we' 'are we not' 'what are we' stuff out of your head and let your heart take over on the birthday. I wouldn't go overboard or anything but he obviously means something to you. :) Enjoy the moment.
I would get something, but something not too mushy. It would be great if you could find something very perfect for him, something one might "treasure" that is still small and seemingly insignificant... if that makes sense. ;) But definitely get him something. You could also go for Michelle's idea of, "Hey, let me take you out to dinner for your birthday!"
Easy to be with hard to get. Get him something small if anything at all. Take is slow is crazy...but if he really likes you and you get him nothing could be bad. Go for something really small to nothing at all. Have fun! xoxo
I love how you call yourself a "walking contradiction" in the about me section.
New to your blog--think it's adorable!
I had my birthday about a month after me and my boyfriend had gone on our first date, about a month before we were "official." He wound up buying me a card, and saying a could have one of the drawings from his sketch book. I didn't wind up taking anything out, but it was still kind of a treat looking at all the sketches he'd done. I'd say something on those lines. Say a card, and something else small, maybe homemade? Even homemade cookies?
I agree with everyone else. I think you should acknowledge that its his birthday and do something. Maybe a nice birthday card and something home made/personal instead of going out and buying him a shirt or something.
Definetely make something for him! Love your blog!
What did he do you for you on your birthday?? I can't remember....were you together then? If so, and he got you something, I would use that as a clue. Although I am starting to lean on the side of he deserves no gift!
And now I sound mean. I am just feeling protective towards my friend!
