Happy Wednesday everyone! How's your week so far? Is it just me or is this week crawling by? My weeks usually fly by but for some reason this one is moving at a snail's pace... Perhaps it's because I have lots of things coming up that I CAN'T WAIT for in June/July/August?
On May 21st I'm heading down to Kansas City for an appearance by Laura Bush at Rainy Day Books on Country Club Plaza. I. Can't. Wait.
First of all I adore her (no secret there) and I am long overdue for a trip to KC to see family and friends. I lived in Kansas City for two years right after college and made many wonderful friends. Almost all of my dad's side of the family is from there so I have tons of family and it's always awesome to see them.
I'm a little bummed though because I called Rainy Day Books yesterday to see if we needed tickets and what the tickets involved. The event costs $30 and includes a signed copy of the book. Too bad I already bought the book! Whoops! I guess I should have planned a little better, huh?
So, of course I'm still going to purchase a ticket which will result in my having two copies of this book... what to do, what to do...

What a fabulous giveaway! It came at the perfect time because I am reading "American Wife" and I know it's based on LB so I am so curious to see what is fiction and what is fact... so I would love to learn more about her.
I do like Laura Bush. I think she is such a stylish woman with incredible poise. And even though people might throw tomatoes at me through the computer when I say this - I like the Bush family. There, I said it. :) I am definitely a Republican. It's interesting because I feel like the blogging community is predominantly Democrat, but maybe that is just a misconception based on my readers & the blogs I follow...
Ok, so I totally heart Laura Bush! I think she is just a super classy lady with that perfect southern charm. And....I love Georgie too!
I'd really love to learn more about our dear Laura, so I think the book would be a perfect way to accomplish it!

I like Laura Bush because she was a librarian and a school teacher. I also think she is a bit more liberal than her husband. I also felt bad for her that she was stuck with him as a husband. I really do enjoy reading about all First Lady's and have read American Wife and own Perfect Wife. I absolutely do not agree with her husband's politics at all. My favorite First Lady would be Jackie Kennedy and second would be Eleanor Roosevelt.
I LOVE Laura Bush! I didn't know much about her until I read American Wife. I know it is fictional, but there were a lot of similarities. I just saw her on Oprah recently and loved it. She is so classy!
I read American Wife about a year ago, and really enjoyed it. Besides that I don't know much about her, but I do think I'd really enjoy reading her book as well!
I am a big fan of the Bush family. I admire Laura Bush and all she had done when she was 1st lady. WHat an amazing lady she is.

I love her passion for literacy and children and the fact that she remains true to herself. Always gracious. Oh, I miss her as a First Lady. I don't like Oprah much but I DID just watch her interview Laura. Michelle is just NOT Laura!
