Ten Days of Thanksgiving - Day 4

It's day FOUR. DAY FOUR! Which means? Thanksgiving is less than a week away!*

Thanksgiving sneaks up on me every year it seems!!!

Today I am thankful for...

Being from the Midwest!

I love living here in Iowa. I've loved everywhere I have visited, and I would never rule out the possibility of living somewhere else again, but I do love where I live.

I mean, who doesn't love their home?? (Ok, I can see how some don't. But, I do.)

Of course it get's cold here, and it's pretty flat, there really isn't anything special about the scenery (unless you like rows and rows of corn and soybeans), but the people are friendly and it's overall a great place to live.

Although, that being said, I don't think we're meant to stay in one place. I think we're meant to move around and it is one of the ways we learn.

This could be moving around by traveling or living somewhere else. Just getting out and seeing other places. I am always going to be biased towards the Midwest though. ;)

So... what better time then this to post my .... accent VLOG!

I don't think I have an accent, but I have been told I have a northern accent, a southern accent, a midwestern accent... so, you decide!

Are you like me and claim you don't have an accent or do you accept your accent?

Aw, girl. As you get older, you become either a.) like the honey badger who don't give a S*it or b.) selfish...but either way, you only get one life. piss off as many ppl as you have to, so you can look back and be happy. there are many relatives i dont see around the holidays and the like, because to me, they are not family. they just happen to be related by blood. start new traditions!! xo

Yay!!! Yours was soo cute! Haha I"m glad I wasn't the only one stumped by the raining when the sun is shining. Who knew there was something to call it?

I will have to listen to this when I get home! I think you have an Iowa accent, which I am even more aware of since moving to Minnesota. I feel like my Des Moines friends have accents. But having said that, I hope I haven't picked up a Minnesota accent--but every now and then I catch myself dragging out my o's--so maybe I do. A little. I am a mix. :-)

I fully accept my accent. And yours. :)

I definitely think you have a bit of a southern accent ;) Your accent sounds WAY different than Lisa's too me!

I don't LOVE my hometown but I do love British Columbia! I would maybe move out of this province at some point to try it but this is definitely where I want to settle. I just wish I liked a city that was a little bit closer to home, being 10 hours away is hard!

Being from Scotland, I DEFINITELY have an accent. Even though mine isn't particularly strong, I can still be very aware of it when I speak . . . especially when I'm around English people - or my ex, haha.

You sound like an Iowan. I am a bit close to the Missouri border but went to school with people from Minnesota and Michigan so I mainly have a stripped down accent. I have a few things I pronounce oddly and I blame it on my out of state friends.

To me, you don't HAVE an accent, so that must mean you have a California accent. :)

I am still "moving around" trying to figure out where I like the best! But I do love me some Northern California. That IS where my heart is!

I was just talking about your accent with Nora, actually! The subject came up because a woman came up to me after my presentation to comment on my accent. She thought it was cute how I say my o's, especially when I say about. But I think that you almost have a very very slight southern drawl to your voice - which I love!

I am thankful that I am from the midwest as well!

I've heard so many times that midwesterners don't have accents, I think maybe it's true? Especially compared to Southerners and New Yorkers. :) Very cute vlog! I have thought about doing one but never jumped on...I think my accent is very similar to yours though.

P.S. I love that you did it in an orchestra room, lol. Too funny!

I found this extremely entertaining. I believe we differ on caramel, data, coupon, and syrup. And I say 'prolly' instead of probably. To me they are soda and sneakers. Maybe for addressing a group, try "Everyone". :)
