Back to school, back to school...

::title sang in a sing-songy Adam Sandler, a la Billy Madison, voice::

I'm sorry, I'm not sorry if that song is stuck in your head ... Haha ;)

Well, we left for winter break on December 20, came back on January 2nd for two days, then the weekend, then the Polar Vertex hit. Bam, two more days off.

I wish I could say I am happy, but ... I'm not really. First of all, there is a TON of material to get through before June and we are quickly approaching half way through the year. You do the math. Secondly... June is for wedding planning/preparation. Not babysitting. Because, lets face it, by that time of the year my job will lean more towards babysitting and the kids will be Done. Capital D, Done. Annnnd, maybe I will be, too.

Anyway. School is back on today with a reasonable 12 degrees.

I am going to attempt to fit one week of reading lessons into three days and start teaching long division. We can do this, fourth graders. We. Can. Do. This.

Catch ya later, blogging buddies.

  1. Ugh, it really sucks that mother nature is going to cut into your summer break which should be devoted to wedding planning! Good luck getting the kids back into the swing of things!!

  2. Schools are off again for the 3rd day in St. Louis. Yesterday I had to venture out, the roads are horrible and I don't even live in a rural town. I think the plowers decided to take a snow day themselves and eat donuts all day because they certainly weren't out on the streets. Its supposedly going to snow tonight again so if they don't get this major storm cleaned up, its going to be a bigger mess when it comes in today/tonight. Ugh!

  3. "Reasonable 12 degrees" HAHAHAHAHA. HAHA. HA. HAHA.

It's been in the 30s/40s here for the past two days and I am miserable. I am SO not cut out for cold weather.

  5. We had a similar situation but our winter break just got extended. I'm totally with you that I do not like snow days- I would so much rather be in school now when it's cold out and have my summer days! Plus, it's been that much harder to get back into it this week. Here's to hoping we are done with snow days so you can have your wedding planning time this summer!

  6. We just went back today as well. Thankfully because I am not k-12 my time in class is a bit different and we always go more than enough days so we won't have to make anything up. I don't think ha. I don't even remember how many days my district gets anymore but it is usually a lot built in because we usually get a bunch of days off. Our roads were still horrible because umm too cold for the ice to melt off the roads after the storm. Funnnn.
