Quick & Dirty.
- This week is going to be insane.
- I might not be around that much.
- That being said, I do have a few things lined up that were written in advance.
- I had a great time shopping in Minneapolis with my mom and sister.
- We hated the Sofitel hotel.
- We loved Ikea. (I still think it's a little bizarre though. Sorry.)
- My mom was introduced to sushi. And she liked it!
- She was also introduced to curry. She didn't like it. (We ate hers. Don't worry). ;)
- I didn't get any studying done (besides reading for children's lit. Which, let's face it, my trying to tell myself that that"studying" is just ridiculous. I still am though.)
- My mom and sister are now well aware of my addiction to Twitter. It's only a matter of time before they find my blog (and, that... sorta freaks me out).
How was your weekend? Do you like Ikea, or do you think it's kind of bizarre too? What's your favorite hotel to stay at?
Glad you had a fun weekend! To bad our trips to Minneapolis were off a week. And yes, Ikea is the happiest place on earth ;)
ReplyDeleteIkea is too big. Once you get in that place, there's no getting out. I do like their food though.
ReplyDeleteYay for your mom liking sushi! My dad HATED sushi when I made him try it. Ha!
ReplyDeleteI like Ikea, but I find that store extremely overwhelming. I have to go there during low traffic times otherwise I feel like i could have a panic attack. The slow moving people who clog the aisles drives me CRAZY.
ReplyDeleteThe best hotel I have stayed at is probably the Four Seasons in Austin. Unfortunately, I did not get to enjoy that hotel room as i worked like a dog on that trip. But it was a beautiful property and I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud.
Wow I'm surprised you didn't like Sofitel- Eric and I just stayed there in Chicago when my parents couldn't go and we loved it, but then again it's in a class of hotels we basically only stay in with my parents so maybe our expectations are lower. Or that hotel just wasn't as good as the one in Chicago.
ReplyDeleteAlso childrens lit reading totally counts- it has to be done right :)
So if your mom doesn't know about your blog, what do you tell her you are doing when you meet up with blog friends? haha. When I first started blogging I didn't tell anyone and some bloggers encouraged me to share with my family. Once I did I was really glad I did. They all read it now!
You are going to rock this week. I am glad that your mom liked sushi. I enjoy visiting Ikea in Pittsburgh on occasion.
ReplyDeleteI lovvvvve Ikea. It's a place to just make a day of it and know you will not spend less than 2 hours in. I want to buy just about everything in the store.
ReplyDeleteBut it can definitely be overwhelming. I guess I'm just used to crowds (and slow people!) that it doesn't really bother me too much. All this talk assures me I need to make a trip up there soon!
They don't know you blog? Ohhh you should tell them. It won't be as awkward as them just finding it. TRUST ME! lol
ReplyDeleteMy dad likes sushi too, but he doesn't like the seaweed, so he orders one with a cucumber shell instead. He's strange, but I am glad he kind of likes it!
ReplyDeleteMy mom reads my blog, so I have to kind of vet what I say...but that's kind of okay, because it keeps me from accidentally spilling anything too personal!
