Beware: randomness ahead

Hello, hello! I haven't posted since the 13th, and to say my head is clogged with words that need to get out is an understatement.

Why did I think taking SIX graduate courses was a good idea? True, my classes are not MBA level difficult, but they are still pretty time consuming, and six was probably pushing it.

I will make it though. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I only have ... 6 assignments, 1 2500 word paper, 1 final test, 1 portfolio, 2 lesson plans, 1 final meeting where I verbally defend my knowledge of the course standards, and a professional development to write and then I'M DONE!

Yeah, typing that out was a little overwhelming.

Other than that, things are okay. I'm hanging in there. I need to get better at reaching out to the people around me when I get stressed or down about something. Sometimes instead of handling the stress, I just ignore it, and as Celia said once... "If you don't take care of the stress, your body will."

Besides classes - work is going great. I haven't worked as much at the Agency this month because I just haven't had time. Subbing has kept me pretty busy, and I'm really excited to finish up next weeks classes so I can sub everyday.

Running is not going so great. I'm struggling to fit everything in. If I was morning person this problem would be solved, but I am a total bear in the mornings and each time I have tried to run in the AM it was a complete failure.

I'm planning on doing 2-3 runs this weekend (one today) and hopefully Zumba Saturday morning. This week I ran one 6 mile run on Monday and then I did the Grand Blue Mile on Tuesday. After that, classes took over my life.

I'm tired. I'm ready for summer. I'm frustrated with so many things. I'm trying to ignore the things out of my control. I'm trying to keep the smile on my face.  I'm being very vague right now.

So, yeah. This was my random update.

  1. I have a very similar list to your "to do" stuff in my Evernote files. I hope everything else (vagueness) is okay! Hang in there girl, it's a valley and soon enough you'll be coming up the mountain.

  2. GAH........I just got dizzy reading that. Just think how great it will feel when you look back and get to say, "Wow, I REALLY managed to accomplish all that."

    I hear ya on the morning person thing--I cannot run in the morning unless it's "long" run Saturday and I'm meeting friends. One thing I've started doing is making myself get up early, but I do laundry, walk Lola, pick up my house, read blogs, etc before work so I don't feel like I have SO much to do after work. It's not any easier to get out of bed, but it's a lot easier to drink coffee and throw a load of laundry in instead of heading out for a run.

  3. You are tiring ME out. You did a 6 mile run?! That is awesome! Some weeks you just need to take it as it comes and then ramp it up the next week (or the week after). You are almost done!

    My boyfriend told me he was going to take 6 classes, on top of working and studying for an Engineering certification and I told him he was crazy. He kept telling me he could do it. Well, now he is about to do finals, just took the Cert test and has had to cut back on work...so he IS doing it, but it's not easy! I am proud of him and YOU too!

    You guys are rock stars. I am tired just looking at your list of things to do.

  4. You definitely took on a lot this summer! The end is in sight, it's going to feel so good to cross each thing off that list - and it will feel really amazing when it's all done!

    The important thing is getting your long runs in and that is what you are doing! You can step back the week day work outs as needed. It's alot of balls to juggle, but you are doing a really good job.

    I hope the other things that are going on in your life get better soon. Sorry to hear you are dealing with some other things on top of school stress. :/

  7. Hang in there, you're almost done! I finished on Thursday and I cried LOL! I start back next week though. I'm gonna try to run this week since I have a 5k on Saturday...eek!
