Vampires make my heart race...

I have finally caved and I started the Sookie Stackhouse books. I'm about halfway through the first book and I have to say, I'm intrigued! A lot of you have warned that the first isn't nearly as good as the rest, and if that is really so, then I am really excited to keep reading!

For all of you Sookie Stackhouse fans and True Blood fans, when is a good time to start watching the first season of True Blood? I don't want any spoilers for the books because if I see it on screen first I am less likely to read the book, plus I'm just a big fan of reading the book first! I think all readers agree...

I had to buy the first book from Borders, but have the rest checked out from the library or on hold at the library. I was surprised there isn't a long wait for them! Maybe people just haven't caught the Bill bug yet and are still pining away for Edward! I'm still leaning towards Edward, but Bill is making my heart race a little too...

I hardly ever go to Borders and am more of a Barnes and Noble girl but I couldn't find the first book anywhere! Finally, I went to Borders (where there was only two copies left) and I have to say... I might be thinking about making the switch! Mainly because their rewards program seems a little better. Better as in free!

Although I really don't buy that many books, so a rewards program isn't a deal breaker for me. I will probably not be loyal to either, and go wherever I have a coupon for. Usually, I buy books used on Amazon, but there are a few authors that I buy right away. Jennifer Weiner's new book on Tuesday anyone? I'm definitely picking that one up...

Now, I'm off to finish reading about Sookie and Bill... I hope they keep me up at night like Edward and Bella did.

  2. I am so addicted. I just watched all of season one like a week ago. And am now watching season two on HBO. It is amazing. I then bought the first two books. I am about half way thru the first one too.

  3. Once you finish the first book, you should watch season 1. It pretty much stays on track with the book. The scenes on the show between Sookie & Bill are hawt! I only read up until book #4. Season 2 has been a bit different than the book.

I am still Team Edward but I am also Team Eric. I think it has to do more with the show than the books.

  4. I think I started watching the first season when I was reading book 3 or 4. The show is kinda different from the books but takes a lot of the same story and just adds things. I would say at least read the first 2 books then watch it!

  5. I prefer Borders (and they do have a free rewards program & lots of 25% off coupons). But mainly I prefer Borders for the little extras like all the cute gift-y items they have in their gift section and way cuter cards by Papyrus. But I do shop at both places as well as Amazon. Oh, and the library--I am really seriously utilizing my library now, too!

  6. My parents actually lent me this book, and I was planning on starting it later this week!

As for the rewards cards we have both B&N and Borders. It looks like Lesli already mentioned it, but the Borders card is free. However, in general you only get a discount on bestsellers. You have to pay for B&N, but you get a 10% discount on all books plus more on bestsellers. I'm always getting coupons mailed to me for both of them, but I never actually remember to use them. I'd say def get the Borders one, and depending how often you buy books the B&N one might be worth it
