I do try to stay away from fast food for my lunch, and in general I do pretty good. I normally wind up at Smoothie King one a week, or eat at Whole Foods' salad bar which isn't too far from where I work.Shoshanahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15707241263291051104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1112065358549799390.post-44121963655683504662010-09-08T06:02:26.350-05:002010-09-08T06:02:26.350-05:00Oddly, I lost weight when hubs and I started datin...Oddly, I lost weight when hubs and I started dating. That had to do with a lot of drinking and puking, though. (Whoops!)

However, I now feel your pain since I am eating everything in sight these days. Even though I'm pregnant, I'm still supposed to watch my carbs!

IT SUCKS. I only want to watch carbs as they go from my hand to my mouth. Instead of fried whatever, choose grilled, baked, or sauteed. If your only choice is a sandwich, choose the healthies option and then may only use one piece of the bun/bread. New relationships are fun and exciting, but I DO think there is a way to make healthier (even if they aren't 100% healthy) choices. As for daily life, I tend to eat healthy during the week and the weekends are my splurge days. It seems to balance itself well, although I know this method won't work for everyone. No matter what, you always have to have a cheat day or at least a cheat meal. Otherwise, it doesn't really work long-term.

Good luck and I'm so happy this new relationship is so fun and exciting for you. :)Tiffany and the Munchkinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04546563309686648864noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1112065358549799390.post-17699273339066772602010-09-01T19:28:02.526-05:002010-09-01T19:28:02.526-05:00When my hubby and I first started dating we went o...When my hubby and I first started dating we went out to eat a LOT...and my body definitely showed it!

Now we cook at home and try to eat pretty healthy!

I take Lean Cuisines to work and sometimes will snack on those 100 calorie snacks. Gross. Be careful, all I can say is it is a lot easier to gain than to lose. I lost 20 pounds in 3 months by cutting out diet soda completely, having dinner before 6pm, and getting my 8 hours. I have fallen into old habits but the weight hasn't come back in a year. There is some chemical in diet soda that increases your appetite so my new rule is regular soda for a treat at the movie theater. Sweet and Salty nut bars (Nature Valley I think?) and Ritz Crackerfuls (only 1) are two snacks that actually keep me feeling full for quite awhile. ;)Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08900453921913833464noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1112065358549799390.post-62880205235837260112010-09-01T11:01:57.775-05:002010-09-01T11:01:57.775-05:00I gained "happy" weight after we were en...I gained "happy" weight after we were engaged. Before I knew it I packed on 30 pounds and I worked my butt off to lose the weight. I catch myself making bad choices, but since I weigh myself fairly often, I can correct the problem right away. It is hard to always eat healthy..I struggle with it everyday. I would suggest asking your new man to go for a bike ride or eating in to keep yourself on track. If I know I am going out to eat for dinner, I eat pretty healthy the rest of the day. Hope this helps.Patiencehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05389144705380750285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1112065358549799390.post-57432856495411413082010-09-01T09:37:41.197-05:002010-09-01T09:37:41.197-05:00I think it's normal to gain weight when you...I think it's normal to gain weight when you're in a relationship period. My weight has yo-yo'ed 5 pounds over the last 2 years depending on if me and Eric are living together or not! Lol.

Just take it one meal at a time. So yesterday sucked? Eat better today! And just because you had a crappy lunch or dinner don't get in the mindest "This week or day is shot so I might as well keep eating crap".
